VP of Operations - Powermoves Entertainment

Jon Chavez has over 15 years experience in the music industry. At a young age Jon started out as a DJ and throughout the years got involved in production, writing and performing. Due to his extensive knowledge of the music industry and popular culture Jon was hired by Powermoves Entertainment as an A&R Representative and eventually the company’s Marketing/A&R Director.  Jon is now the VP of Operations for Powermoves Entertainment and was recently appointed as the Chief Operating Officer of The Source Latino Magazine.

Jon was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. At an early age Jon developed a strong passion and a great understanding for music and entertainment. While still in high school Jon started performing as a local DJ. Eventually Jon wrote and performed his own music with a popular local music group based in Albuquerque.

In his early 20’s Jon received his MBA from the University of New Mexico with one of the highest GPA’s of his class. While in graduate school Jon started his own marketing consulting business where he learned how to run a successful company on his own. This is where he learned the importance of guerilla marketing and learned how to reach customers through promotion.

This passion for music and experience in business brought him to the established yet fast growing record label named Powermoves Entertainment.  Jon started as an A&R Representative and quickly was promoted to Marketing/A&R Director and more recently promoted to the number 2 position in the company as the VP of Operations. His extensive experience in business and great understanding of music afforded him a quick rise to the top of one of the fastest growing and most established music groups in the region. Jon’s marketing abilities has been a key component in the success Powermoves has accomplished over the past few years.

Over the years with Powermoves Entertainment Jon has received great acclaim from artists, businessmen and fellow industry associates for his knowledge of the business and his marketing expertise. Jon has attended and spoke at some of the biggest conferences in the country. He has worked with many artists and instantly built a strong marketing base around his artists and company.  Jon has promoted some of the biggest shows and events in the Southwest and recently begun a non-profit community based event entitled “Powermoves Empowering the Youth” an all day youth block party inspiring children with positive role models and influences.
